Description:

The Project Work is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following:

1. Structural demolition consists of the selective demolition/exploration of existing foundations and masonry walls to determine size, type and reinforcement of the existing structural elements.

2. Architectural work consists of demolition of ceilings, interior walls and storefront system, stairs and railings, interior doors, flooring and wall base, casework.

3. Mechanical work consists of a complete demolition of all existing mechanical systems in their entirety including equipment, ductwork, gas piping, and all associated hangers, controls, specialties, etc.

4. Electrical work consists of a complete demolition of all existing electrical and low voltage systems in their entirety including distribution equipment, conduit, wiring, lighting, supports, etc. Main electrical service equipment shall remain as indicated on drawings for future removal and/or modifications.

5. Plumbing work consists of complete removal of all existing above ground piping, equipment, fixtures, etc. in their entirety back to main service entrances (existing backflow preventers will need replaced as part of the new work scope but will remain during demo unless water is needed for the process, then they will need to be replaced during the demo phase). All underground piping is to be cut 5' 0" outside of the building and capped. Existing piping within the building space will be abandoned in place and filled with flowable material. All existing fire protection mains are to remain in place, with all branch piping to be removed unless deemed safe to re-use.
