A sensitively designed elevator addition was incorporated into this historic library to provide seamless access to all three floors. Great care was taken to match the historical proportions and details of the 1900 building and to preserve as much of the interior space as possible. By maximizing the preservation of existing interior spaces, the project successfully balances accessibility with historic stewardship, enabling expanded programming opportunities and equitable access to the library’s resources for all patrons.
